There are lots of reasons to join KSP, but the biggest - the one that's often not talked about, or even known, is that a union has to have a certain percentage of represented employees as active Members in Good Standing. When a union goes below that percentage, the contract we've worked so hard on is dissolved, and the bargaining unit disbanded. The union ceases to exist. So while there are lots of perks to union membership, which can be found HERE, the biggest benefit is ensuring our bargaining power now, and in the future.
